VS Code Remote SSH on ARMv7l (32 bit) fails with "./node: No such file or directory"

Connecting with VS Code remote SSH to a Wago controller 750-8212 it fails with:

Server did not start successfully. Full server log at /home/admin/.vscode-server r/.e18005f0f1b33c29e81d732535d8c0e47cafb0b5.log >>> [12:17:37.807] > BusyBox v1.34.1 () multi-call binary.

Usage: readlink FILE

Display the value of a symlink /home/admin/.vscode-server/bin/e18005f0f1b33c29e81d732535d8c0e47cafb0b5/bin/code e-server: line 12: ./node: No such file or directory <<< End of server log

I'm using VS Code version 1.66.0. The SSH connected device is a debian based ARMv7l (AArch32). Kernel, glibc/libc, libstd++ and python version should be ok from what I understand (kernel 4.9, glibc 2.7, libstdc++ 6.0.28).From the log the SSH connection is ok, it downloads and installs the code-server but seems like there is problems with the output of the bash script (line 12) because of some "path" issues. Output from $ROOT seem to be '.':

Code-server.sh:

#!/usr/bin/env sh
#
# Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
#

case "$1" in
    --inspect*) INSPECT="$1"; shift;;
esac

ROOT="$(dirname "$(dirname "$(readlink -f "$0")")")"
"$ROOT/node" ${INSPECT:-} "$ROOT/out/server-main.js" "$@"

The installation is in '/home/admin/: [image1]

If I in the bash script use the direct path to nodejs it seems to launch 'server-main.js' but then it fails further with "Could not fetch remote environment" and "Failed to connect to the remote extension host server (Error:WebSocket close with status 1006)".

ROOT="/home/codesys_root/.vscode-server/bin/e18005f0f1b33c29e81d732535d8c0e47cafb0b5"

Could anyone see what is the problem with the installation, paths or what to try/investigate?

[EDIT 1]:

When error message pop-ups:

  1. "Could not fetch remote environment".
  2. "Failed to connect to the remote extension host server (Error:WebSocket close with status 1006)".

Seems to be related to vs code websocket client can't fetch any data from the remote websocket server: Error

[EDIT 2]:

Same error in WSL!
