Why do many front-end developers use calc(100vh - 1px) in height to design a full page content?

I have tried to solve the challenge in frontend mentor below:

https://www.frontendmentor.io/challenges/qr-code-component-iux_sIO_H

when I searched for the solution, I was finding developers using the styles below:

body{
    background-color: var(--Light-gray);
    font-size: 15px;
    font-family: 'Outfit', sans-serif;
    display: flex;
    flex-direction: column;
    align-items: center;
    justify-content: center;
    margin: 1.25rem;
    height: calc(100vh - 1px);
}

why do they subtract 1px from 100vh?
