I am working on an application which needs to always be in view, but due to virtual desktops the app can go on another desktop.
How to catch the event of the active virtual desktop being switched, or move the app to the new desktop?

There's some discussion of how to implement this feature in https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-50458 but it's not yet implemented as far as I know. If you are on X11 you can almost certainly find a way that will work with most window managers, but it needs some experimentation.
