per machine variables in user tasks in VS Code with Settings Sync

I am using VS Code + Settings Sync on two machines. I have some tasks setup in my user tasks.json file. They sync across the machines as expected.

On one of the machines I need some environment variables (for proxy) for the tasks to work. On the other machine I don't need those environment variables.

{
    "version": "2.0.0",
    "options": {
        "env": {
            "http_proxy": "...", // this setting should only be there on one machine
            "https_proxy": "..." // this setting should only be there on one machine
        },
        "cwd": "${fileWorkspaceFolder}/"
    },
    "tasks": [...]
}

Right now, since the user tasks.json file is getting synced between the two, tasks break on one machine cause that machine doesn't need the proxy environment variables set.

I can't set the proxy in VS Code settings cause I only need proxy for tasks, not for other VS Code internet requests.

Is there a way to somehow have specific environment variables depending on the machine?
