How to trigger the plUpload browse_button programmatically?

can anyone suggest a way to trigger the plUpload Browse method programmatically via JavaScript or jQuery? I have a working model for a single file upload, using a browse_button id, but I would like to first submit my form when the button is clicked (to save data) and THEN trigger Browse to start the single file upload process when the page re-loads, i.e. by inserting a function to click the button (like below). Can not get that to work so far. Thanks for any advice.
