Viewed 231

When launch i get a popup saying The .NET Core SDK cannot be located. .NET Core debugging will not be enabled. Make sure the .NET Core SDK is installed and is on the path. i have downloaded the binaries for the .NET SDK but cant find a way to make VSCode see it. Is there any way to manually set the path inside vscode? or do i have to disable the popup?

Yes, you can manually point Omnisharp (the C# plugin) to an SDK. You need to go into the settings and then search for “Omnisharp: Dotnet Path” and “Omnisharp: Sdk Path”, setting the path to wherever your SDK folder is. Then search for “Omnisharp: Sdk Version” and update the version number to the one for the SDK that you're using. Lastly, search for “Omnisharp: Use Modern Net” and ensure that it's checked. You will need to reload Omnisharp after this, but they you should be good to go.
