Difference between Fog and Edge computing

Viewed 77

I am confused between these two terms because they both seem very similar. Both process the data close to the IoT devices. Same hardware/ software can be used for fog and edge. So where exactly does the difference lies between them? I did read some blogs about their difference but I was not able to get a clear answer from any one of them. Can anyone explain the main differences between these two terms with some examples? Please give support references along with your answer.

there is no difference. Fog computing is CISCO. Edge computing is more "academic". They both describe something that cannot be accurately described, and many different people give many different meanings to it.
