I have a sequence of images - frames if you will. Which must be encoded by allocating each pixel a sequence of colours.
For example:

But there are only so many colour sequences that can be stored. What is an algorithm I could employ to 'merge' pixels of similar sequences until the total number of sequences falls below a given threshold?
