Property 'xxx' does not exist on type 'Assertion'

We have a monorepo with a react project based on TypeScript and the NX build framework.

Unfortunately for our Jest tests we get this error message in the IDE (for every Jest property):

Property 'toMatchSnapshot' does not exist on type 'Assertion'. ts(2339)

We already tried some approaches (Github, Stackoverflow etc.) but unfortunately didn't get it to work.

What are we doing wrong or what is missing here?

Info: If we import '@testing-library/jest-dom'; directly into the test files, it works. However, we don't want to add this import to every test file, we want to configure it globally.
