How to trace memory allocations in C++14 and higher?

Viewed 156

In C++11 and lower, new operator uses malloc glibc calls and it is possible to trace the memory allocations using the mtrace or malloc_hook. However, in C++14 or higher there is no guarantee that the new operator uses the malloc from glibc.

I would like to know if I can continue to use mtrace/malloc_hook for tracing the memory allocations?

Are there alternatives?
