Flutter "specified for property 'mainMergedManifest' does not exist" error

Viewed 764

I have problem debugging and running my first Flutter app.

My setup:

  • Android Studio 2020.3.1 Patch 2
  • Flutter SDK 2.5.2 Stable (Windows 10)
  • SDK 16, 30 and 31 is installed
  • Virtual Device Pixel 2 API 30

The project is the default created by Android Studio.

I've deleted and created it multiple times. "Invalidate Caches/Restart" didn't solve the problem.

The error:

* What went wrong:
A problem was found with the configuration of task ':app:processDebugManifest' (type 'ProcessMultiApkApplicationManifest').
> File 'E:\Projects\Flutter\myapp\build\app\intermediates\merged_manifest\debug\out\AndroidManifest.xml' specified for property 'mainMergedManifest' does not exist.

Solved.

For those who may run into same issue:

  • Store your project files on C: drive, OR
  • On a drive formatted as NTFS — mine was on an SD card formatted as exFAT.
