Gradle assemble failing due to "Could not determine the dependencies of task ':app:lintVitalRelease'. "

I tried to make my ionic project into a .apk, following the below steps

$ ionic start
$ ionic build
$ ionic capacitor add android
$ ionic sync
$ cd android && ./gradlew assembleRelease
