Override "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid"

Does anyone know if its possible to override this dialog on ios safari when trying to open a native app from the safari browser using a URI appname:/// and the app is not installed on a device?

I tried overriding the window.alert and it works as expected for browser alerts, however it does not work when this pops up. Or does this maybe fire some event that I can listen for using window.addEventListener()?

I've done some research and it seems to be one of two reasons:

  1. The Web App configuration in the Intune console has the Require a managed browser to open this link option set to Yes.
  2. The Intune Managed Browser for iOS app isn’t installed on the device.

To fix this issue, either install the Intune Managed Browser on the iOS device or set the Require a managed browser to open this link option in the policy to No.
