determine if T of Manifest[T] is a collection

currently i have this:

private def isCollectionLike[T](manifest: Manifest[T]):Boolean = {
   manifest.runtimeClass.toString.contains("scala.collection")
}

I don't like this solution, can you purpose a better one?
