Print in new line, java

Question

I have following code :

    System.out.println(" | 1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9");
    System.out.println("----------------------------");
    System.out.println("");

I use println to create a new line. Is it possible to do the same using or ? I tried to add to the second println statment and continue printing with the print method but does not create a new line.

any ideas?

/n and /r usage depends on the platform (Window, Mac, Linux) which you are using.
But there are some platform independent separators too:

System.lineSeparator()
```
```
System.getProperty("line.separator")
```
