The websites for Blender and Unreal Engine list the CPU RAM minimum as 8 GB, but their recommended specifications are 32 GB and 64 GB, respectively (docs: Blender and UE5).
From experience, I know that running these tools on a machine with less than 32 GB of RAM can be painfully slow, especially if you are running other software concurrently. However, it is difficult for me to weigh the benefits of investing in a system with high CPU and GPU RAMs without knowing what use-cases demand more than the minimum.
Is there data or other published resources that quantify the cost-benefits of using specifications better than those listed in the minimum?
