I am setting up a local Windows Server 2016 machine as a Domain Controller on a network without internet connection as a proof of concept. All the required machines (one being a web server) are set up and working, and the router (an old CenturyLink modem being reused) seems to be sending DNS requests to the right place.
However, I cannot get my android tablet to connect. I find it is sending multicast dns requests when looking for the site. I can connect using any other computer, so I know the DNS is working.
I do not know enough about setting up DNS or Windows Server 2016 to find how to get the server to listen for multicast dns requests. Does anyone have experience with this that can give me some guidance? Thanks.
