We are planning to open SMB servers from Azure (which we currently use from on Premise servers).
Azure Security group asked
1. Current Samba Version used on WSV00194. (Is it latest or any information on moving to latest)
2. Type of Authentication (Is it basic now? What other modern authentications are available?)
When I asked about WSV00194 from IT specialist he said :
It is NAS storage. I do not provide any support of it, only ca provide access via security groups in Active directory
and he know nothing else. So am I connecting to NAS Storage using SMB protocol? Isn't NAS Storage configured with SMB Protocol version and authentication types?
I am unclear what to ask here; can someone guide me; what to look into or study something fastly?
