Determine if user tapped Pair or Cancel on BLE pairing popup iOS

I'm working on a BLE hardware communication with iPhone. How can we determine if the user tapped on the Pair or Cancel button? When the user taps cancel on the pairing code pop-up and initiate the Bluetooth connection, the pairing code pops up and disappears in ~2 seconds. What is the workaround to handle this? Right now I'm turning OFF the Bluetooth on the iPhone settings and then the pairing code pop-up stays for 30 seconds.
