I am studying computer science, recent class talked about the proof methods.
proof by contradiction,
proof by induction,
proof by inversion,
Professor or textbook doesn't talk about which proof method is good to use based on the given problem. Whenever professor give us a problem and asks us which proof we should use. But never give us why.
I am wondering best way to choose one proof method for a problem. Please give me an advice on it.
