Is there a way to create Jira dashboards in powerbi without the connector

has anyone ever integrated their Jira projects into powerbi with the rest API's? Ive been trying to create and implement this in a way which can later be automated or used as a template. If anyone has had success or any insight on how to do this without the jira connector for powerbi (as the jira im using isnt on the cloud yet)it will be much appreciated
