I'm a newbie in the streaming space and wanted to ask if my "terminology conversion" framework below summarizes the equivalent components between AWS Kinesis, Azure EventHub, and Apache Kafka.
I understand that there may be nuanced differences across the 3 platforms, but for simplicity's sake the below is my best attempt at trying to understand all 3 at the same time:
Kafka > Kinesis > EventHub
L1. Table: Topic > Stream > Event Hub
L2. Table Partition: Partition > Shard > Partition
L3. Record Message > Data Record > Event
L4. Actual Record
- Kafka: Offset, Partition Key, Event Value
- Kinesis: Sequence #, Partition Key, Data Blob
- Event Hub: Offset, Partition Key, Avro Data File
