VSCode opening New Terminal throws "The terminal process failed to launch. Starting Directory..." error

As mentioned on one of the posts here I have changed the terminal.integrated.defaultprofile.windows & terminal.integrated.shellArgs.windows setting to Command Prompt. This has been done on the user and workspace level.
