I have fallen at the first hurdle. I have tried to install MySQL Workbench on my Mac, and can't get it to connect to the local server, as I suspect it doesn't exist and therefore isn't running. After installing I have tried to add a new MySQL Connections, and then test connection.
I get this error "Failed to Connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1:3306 with user root".
I am not sure if it is because I didn't notice that there was a temporary password when I extracted to the download originally. Or something else.
I am pulling my hair out, and can't find any videos on how to solve. I have tried to uninstall but suspect it isn't deleting all traces of the file, but when I re-download the disk image, it doesn't give me the pkg so I can extract and go through the steps it just gives me the option to copy it to the application folder.
I am really new to this, and so frustrated so anyone that can help me get this solved would be amazing1
