Google calendar API - notification for a new instance of a deleted recurrence

We have a calendar in our app that our users can sync with google calendar, using the Google calendar API. Sometimes, after we get a notification for a deletion of a recurring event. we get a notification of a newly created instance for the deleted recurrence. Any idea how can that happen? Thanks, Zach.
