I have done a Power BI setup for an organization before and I just need a refresh and update since I don't do it every day. It has been a few years that I have setup a successful Power BI platform for a company.
First, since 2020 until now, has anything changed or any additional features for the setup?
Second, in terms of a gateway, I have forgotten what are the requirements? I last used a professional license. I know that I will need an active on-premise server, installing the standard gateway (not personal gateway) right? I remember that I have to update this gateway periodically when there are releases.
Third, we are planning to have paginated reports too. In the past, we usually have a SSRS reporting server. This time around, should I use the Power BI server instead for paginated reports? Should I install the gateway on the Power BI Server?
Fourth, for license, I remember free license does not do much. Should we buy Professional for developers and Premium for users?
Please feel free to point out anything else. We are not going to use Azure and pretty much the warehouse will be an on-premise server which will be separated from the Power BI reporting server.
