I just learned about vertical sharding on database. Vertical sharding is splitting one table into multiple tables by columns.
Let's say the original big table, table A, has 10 columns. Out of the 10 columns, 5 are rarely used. so you vertically shard table A, and put the 5 columns that are rarely used into a new table, table B, into another table space.
So now, when you run a query on table A, maybe a select query, will the query be faster since you have more table space for table A?
