Are there any disadvantages to using RabbitMQ AMQP protocol for scaling?

I am doing a study on scaling a machine learning application and intend to scale such application with rabbitmq, was wondering what are some of the disadvantages and advantages of using message broker like rabbit. I'm new to message brokers so any insights would be appreciated!
