Azure PIM using az rest

We have enabled PIM in our organization and I have difficulties finding a solution to activate PIM roles using command line on Mac. Trying to convert New-AzRoleAssignmentScheduleRequest in PowerShell using az-cli. I've failed using az rest command in numerous ways. Is it possible to activate PIM roles in any way without having to use a browser and manually click on the "Activate" button?
