I have a task at school and am not sure weather to use a database or another method

I have little experience with databases in general and at school have gotten a assignment to make a web app where you can search for a model of car, not sure wether to use a database or csv file of just a really long array of objects of cars, anyone know which one to use and maybe a couple ways on "how to do it", I'm really stuck on this, leaning more towards a database but not sure, if thats the best does anyone know a good one to use, (I'm coding in js and html, css) Any help is appreciated, Thanks
