We started to outsource and hire employees from overseas to work with Quickbooks accounting software (local). There are about 15-20 people and I have setup old intel i7 CPUs as windows 10 hyper-v hosts.
Each host has 32GB of memory and 3 windows10 guests. They work fine, but need to restart the hosts at least every 2 weeks, and it is a bit of pain. Is there a better way?
I've looked into Quickbooks online, and quickbooks hosting, but not very suitable.
The only reason is that, after a while hyper-v guests PCs become unstable, and I need to restart the server (just like you need to restart your desktop PC every 1-2 weeks) after I shutdown all 3 guest PCs individually. I have to close all the programs in the guests. When that happens, restarting the one guest PC is usually not enough.
I read some about VMware Horizon. Is it worth migrating? It is so much cost effective to use 5-year-old i7 desktops as hosts than to buy super powerful server computer.
Or is it a better way to make it more stable?
