Can Anyone explain to me what type of join is used where?

I am very confused, every time when I tried to solve the questions related to Join. I can't figure out what type of Join used to where. I simply put JOIN keywords everywhere and most of the time my answer is wrong. Explain in what condition I have to join Left join, Outer join, Inner Join, etc.
