When running code i get "zsh command not found error"

I am new to programming and I am trying to use Visual Studio Code to make writing easier but I cannot run anything on my mac. Whenever I try I get the "zsh command not found error". VS code works fine on my windows PC, I have a 2020 m1 mac with 12.5 Monterey if that helps.
