Navigation Bar color won't change, despite being selected in the Bar Tint

I am using Xcode 14 and despite changing the navigation bar color to a color, it still morphs with the table view color. On my attributes inspector I have the bar tint as the color I want. I tried turning translucent off, but that just makes the navigation bar black.
