Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL / WSL2) - Win 11 - Some GUI but not all

Viewed 19

I see more and more about WSL (and now, WSLg... ), but the GUI apps do already work in Win 11. I can open some at least. No real reason for it. Just something "fun" to play around with. But, I can't help but wonder why this is happening:

user@beelink-u59:~$ dillo
paths: Cannot open file '/home/user/.dillo/dillorc': No such file or directory
paths: Using /etc/dillo/dillorc
paths: Cannot open file '/home/user/.dillo/keysrc': No such file or directory
paths: Using /etc/dillo/keysrc
paths: Cannot open file '/home/user/.dillo/domainrc': No such file or directory
paths: Using /etc/dillo/domainrc
Domain: Default accept.
dillo_dns_init: Here we go! (threaded)
Disabling cookies.
Can't open display: :0
user@beelink-u59:~$ firefox
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Error: cannot open display: :0
user@beelink-u59:~$ sudo firefox
[sudo] password for user:
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Error: cannot open display: :0

What info about my system would you need to see, in order to advise?

Thank you!

P.S. I was reading this article when I decided to try Dillo as I know that's a small app and likely doesn't req much to run. I used the commands as in the article to install the apps. None of what I installed from that article are working. Yet, I can open Synaptic, and i had Gedit on a diff Win11 sys.
