I wanna patch a RT-PREEMPT for my upboard, but it does not work out as I expect.
My ubuntu version is 16, and I download the 4.14.87 kernal and its corresponding RT patch (couldn't find the RT patch for its default 4.15 kernel). Then I compile the kernel following the steps of most of the relating tutorials. The compilation did not throw any error. But when I restart and enter the "Ubuntu Advanced..." and choose the new RT kernel, it stuck at the following line:
Loading Linux 4.14.87-rt49 ...
Loading initial ramdisk ...
Does anyone know what cause this "Loading initial ramdisk ..." freezing when loading a new ubuntu kernel?
