Here is more simple
DateTime dt;
string yourdate = dt.DayOfWeek.ToString()
better than declare redundant DayOfWeek
(DateTime.Parse((Eval("date").ToString()))).DayOfWeek.ToString()
at the place of Eval("date"),you can use any date...get name of day
